About Daniel

What licenses do I hold?

I am fully licensed Medium Rigid Truck, Condition B (which includes car auto AND manual) as well as motorcycle class RE, having held opens on both for 2 years. I am only offering car lessons at this time.

What sets me apart from any other driving instructor?

I have done 5 driving tests (car auto, car manual, MR, RE L, RE O) and passed each one first go. As such have extensive experience with what the examiner will look for on the day, as well as a range of examination routes at Brisbane test centres.

I have 4+ years of tutoring experience with high school students and adult learners, so I know the variety of different learning styles and can adapt my lessons to each individual.

I have experience with sedans, SUV's, large 4WD's, and sports cars, with automatic and manual gearboxes, as well as electric drivetrains , so I can help prepare learners to drive a variety of vehicles - not just the one they will use to pass their test on.

I am competent with working with children and adults alike Valid blue card (working with children's check).

What experience do I have driving?

I have extensive driving experience, having traveled around the entire Brisbane metro area for tutoring work over the last 4 years, as well as heavy vehicle and motorcycle operating experience for work as well.

I do frequent drives into the mountains, as well as cross country road trips, so I can prepare learners for much more than just city driving and passing a test - I want to make everyone a competent driver in all conditions.

With my variety of experience on license classes, I can instruct learners on how to share the road with other vehicles and not just cars - including staying out of truck blind spots and watching for motorcycles in challenging conditions. These are things that most instructors without experience operating trucks or motorcycles could not teach!

AVAILABILITY AND RATES

My availability changes week to week - please reach out and we can work something out.

I am NOT available on Friday's and Saturday's.

Currently as of May 5, I am available Brisbane inner city and surrounds on Monday, Brisbane inner north-east on Tuesday, Springfield region on Wednesday, Brisbane inner north west on Thursday, and Brisbane north east through to Redcliffe region on Sunday's.

Rates are $45 an hour, $65 for 90 minutes, $80 for 2 hours. Any time after 2 hours will be charged at $35 an hour.

Whole day rates negotiable - I can take learners on a full day outing with a mix of city and countryside driving.

Note that since I am not certified as a driver trainer, the logbook hours during the day will be at 1x and not 3x, however there is more time to actually be on the road for the same ish price!

Disclaimer: The first few drives should be with a trusted family member in a quiet carpark or a qualified instructor with a dual control vehicle. I would prefer to assist with learners who already have the basics of vehicle control dialled in, so we can work on road craft and advanced vehicle handling to pass the exam first go, and be a safe and competent driver for years to come! I can travel to your house, and accompany learners in their own car - no need to wait weeks to book. Please ensure you have a car that you are both allowed to drive, and meets roadworthy standards as you cannot use mine.

ABOUT THE LESSON

I can do "practice exams" where I use a sheet similar to the one the driving examiner will use on the day (these are available online), and provide both written and verbal feedback, and take you (or your child) through a variety of road situations, and maneuverers similar to the ones on test day.

I will refer back to my many driving tests, and the minor errors I made, and how to avoid making the same minor errors.

Going beyond that, I can draw upon my experience driving across various roads, from gravel roads, 4WD dirt tracks, country highways, and city streets, as well as my experience operating many different vehicle types from delivery trucks, to 4WD's, to SUV's, sedans, sports cars and motorcycles, to help teach safe and competent driving in different road situations, and vehicles types - not just to pass a test!
