About Ellen
I am a 3rd year Geophysics student at the University of Leeds, and have tutored Maths since I was 17, helping fellow students achieve the necessary grades for their university of choice. I achieved 3 A's in my A levels which I attribute to changing up my learning methods and to my excellent tutor at the time.

I give lessons to secondary school students up to and including A level. I am particularly good at helping with Mechanics within both Physics and Maths, as this was something I struggled with myself initially so I know some different ways of thinking about mechanics problems to make them make sense.
I normally use a combined method of going through examples and asking the students to explain/discuss what methods to use/what should be done next, as well as asking the students to try a question themselves and asking them to explain their thought process behind it. This method often allows students to spot what they have done wrong themselves, which is a much better learning tool than just telling them.
