About Julia

I have just moved to the UK from South Africa to study at the University of Surrey. I started tutoring students a few years below me in my school in South Africa and really enjoyed making meaningful connections with them and helping them understand Maths better. I believe tutoring is a very good skill to have and I enjoy helping others especially through content that I understand and have also struggled with. I am very passionate about Maths and am studying a degree in it and I would love to share this passion with you.

About the lesson

I have past tutoring experience in Cape Town in both in-person and online tutoring. I prefer online as it is more accessible for both the student and the tutor. Lessons are typically one hour long, once a week but I am happy to extend this to up to two hours a session. For online tutoring, I run the Teams meet through my iPad and if the student also has an iPad or similar device, I like to share a link to a Microsoft Whiteboard where we can both write on the page at the same time. Otherwise, we can share screens and send photos of any questions and work through questions like that. I am looking to tutor Maths for GCSE and A-level.

Perfect! My son found Julia to be an excellent tutor. They ended up having a two hour lesson! He found her to be very professional and a lovely person. He would highly recommend her to others.
