I like to adapt my lesson plan and methods to the personality and abilities of the student i am tutoring to strive to achieve the best possible outcome for them and maximise their engagement with the content. Therefore if they are very active and energetic I try to incorporate kinaesthetic learning that involves movement and activity. Where as visual learners I would use visual techniques to explain concepts and ideas to the students, using tools such as mind maps, flash cards and power points that incorporate colour and drawing to help remember important aspects of the work. A typical lesson may include me explaining a concept through the use of these devices then getting the student to demonstrating their understanding of it by trying to use it. I would then follow up with corrections and getting the student to repeat the task again incorporating the corrections i gave.
I am currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Pharmacy Honours at Curtin University and I recently graduated from St Mary's Anglican Girl's School in 2018. I have informal tutoring experience helping younger friends and family members with their school work who have all improved significantly with my help.
