About Ashley
Teaching provides a unique way to revisit foundational logic after 9 years of shipping production code. Coding is often a lonely endeavor, so I started mentoring to share the collaborative reality of development. My 13 years of professional work span C++, Java, and SQL databases, which helps me explain how these pieces fit together.
I utilize version control like Git and strict data structures to keep projects clean. My goal is to simplify complex object-oriented programming into manageable pieces that make sense for students. I emphasize competitive programming and project-based learning to keep your skills sharp.

I provide a hands-on mini project assigned after every class to ensure your concepts stick. We focus on implementation so that you can build functional applications from scratch. You will find that these sessions clarify the relationship between syntax and architecture. It would be great to see what you choose to build during our first meeting.
