I wish it were as easy to write about Anjana Ma’am in just a few words. The two years Ma’am taught and mentored us, she brought me opportunities and a kind of exposure that sticks to me till today. She gave me my very first chance to get an internship at a young internship firm while giving me hours of her time, guiding me towards entrepreneurship and leadership. She spent hours with me on calls morning and night helping me refine and build winning competition submissions whether it was robotics or innovation. Ma’am guided me through international competitions like the BrightSpark innovation challenge, on to global contests like Exun2020, and scholarships from Times of India and Khan Academy. The two years when she taught me, business studies was more than just a regular classroom experience, ma’am ensured to bring in so many opportunities, mentored me towards my dreams, guided me through so many competitions and so many achievements. Anjana ma’am’s way of teaching was so unique that it was less about the subject rather more about the practicality of the learning. Ma’am gave us the platform to build, market, and sell an eco friendly waste disposal product from scratch. Additionally, she connected me with other powerful advisors, as she spent a summer vacation to help me start a company with her, a startup aimed to create an online community space for senior citizens, that we called Senizen. It goes without saying, Anjana ma’am was a supporting pillar, a game changing cheerleader, and nothing less than a loving family member for me. I still turn to telling her about every success and every achievement, with her being my most SUPER superprof. I could go on forever about how she shaped me as a student, but it sure wouldn’t cover the kind of impact she had on all my endeavours.

I had the privilege of being taught and mentored by Ms. Anjana Guha during my 9th and 10th grades while studying Business Studies under the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum. Over those two years, she became much more than a teacher—she was a mentor who played a significant role in shaping the way I think, learn, and approach real-world problems.

What sets Anjana ma'am apart is her unique and refreshing approach to teaching. Rather than rushing through the syllabus to complete chapters, she focused on helping us truly uncover and understand the subject. Her classes were centered around exploration, discovery, and curiosity. She created an environment where every question was welcomed, no matter how simple or complex, and she always took the time to ensure that concepts were understood thoroughly. Her modern, open-minded, and approachable nature made students feel comfortable sharing ideas, challenging assumptions, and thinking beyond textbook answers.

One of the most memorable experiences I shared with her was working on a business venture called Veg*Kart. As part of our Business Studies project, she encouraged us to move beyond theory and gain practical entrepreneurial experience. Veg*Kart was designed to act as a middleman between farmers and large B2B companies, helping create a more efficient and widespread distribution network for fruits and vegetables. Under her guidance, we learned how to develop business proposals, seek funding, build strategies, manage finances, communicate with customers and vendors, and execute a business idea from concept to implementation.

Her involvement throughout the project was invaluable. Through countless discussions, meetings, and brainstorming sessions, she constantly challenged us to look at problems from different perspectives and think critically about our decisions. She never simply provided answers; instead, she guided us toward discovering solutions ourselves. This experience taught me lessons that extended far beyond the classroom and gave me valuable exposure to entrepreneurship, leadership, and business management.
