About Anna
I am in my first year of studying a Bachelor of Dental Surgery at James Cook University, fresh out of finishing year 12 and looking to help students (high school or middle school) in the areas of math, biology or chemistry. I was not a naturally gifted academic student but worked hard to gain a full understanding of topics at school, allowing me to succeed in every one of my subjects (especially mathematics and sciences).

I have tutored students mainly in year 10 while I was in my final year of school and after I graduated, but am willing to tutor any age. My teaching method is to help students gain a better understanding of topics that they will be tested on because at the end of the day that is how you get the good grades. I like to use material from text books or what the teacher has given them so they can continue to be an independent learner and I will not be introducing any new concepts that clash with what their teachers are telling them. I am happy to go from the basics to ensure the student understands the foundations of what they are learning about and then work with them on adding to that knowledge and testing them on questions. However, I also can work on just a specific topic of a subject that a student is finding difficult. If possible I like to offer an abstract way of understanding a concept because everyone is a different type of learner.
