About Stanley
I am a passionate and hardworking student, and I really enjoy learning about maths and science. Currently a 1st year Engineering undergraduate at the Clare College, University of Cambridge, I have experience of going beyond the GCSE and A-level curricula, such as with AddMaths during the GCSE years, and the Advanced Extension Award in Mathematics, Thermodynamics, Oxbridge entrance test (specifically the ENGAA but with PAT and MAT prep too) and interview preparation and maths extension during my time in Sixth Form.
I am loving studying Engineering at university, and ultimately would like to end up working in sustainable transport or renewable energy. I was also appointed as the School Captain during my final year at school, as well as completing my Gold DofE award, and have a variety of life experiences and skills that would benefit our lessons.

At GCSE or A-level standard, I will share my approach to taking exams in terms of learning content, note taking, exam technique, and solidifying conceptual understanding, with recent first-hand experience that resulted in 9x9s and 4xA*'s. I would also share some 'shortcuts' and tips that I used to achieve top grades.
I believe that broad understanding of a subject is key to success at any level, and I would teach a solid foundation at lower levels of education to prepare students adequately for exams in the future, or simply to gain more of an appreciation for a subject, adapting to the individual student's needs and goals.
I love science and maths, and believe there are ways to teach them to make students genuinely excited to study these amazing subjects.
