Hi!
My name is Thiru and I’d like to welcome you to my profile. I am an Oxbridge graduate, qualified teacher and former head of department with over ten years’ worth of experience in tutoring and teaching English at Key Stage 3 & GCSE level. I have also ghost-written several short stories for various publications and am an examiner for the AQA and Edexcel Pearson boards.

Intro: I do not believe in tutoring on an ad-hoc lesson by lesson basis. I have designed programs of study that build a student’s creative and analytical skillsets slowly and efficiently.
LITERATURE:
I offer a holistic method toward improving a student's ability to read and analyse literature texts. I plan my lessons well in advance and my literature students have access to my tailor-made revision guides for each of the set texts. Many of my previous students have achieved Grades 8-9, and I have had some students attain 100% in their GCSE papers for Macbeth, Romeo & Juliet, Lord of the Flies and A Christmas Carol. I have recently started making short revision videos to help my students with exam prep.
CREATIVE & TRANSACTIONAL WRITING:
I have designed a creative writing program called ‘Beyond Colour’ which has helped several students excel in Paper 1 Section B of the GCSE English Language paper. I have also recently designed my own program for transactional writing called ‘Pathos and Logos: Mastering Persuasive Writing’.
