About Elle

I'm a passionate teacher who strongly believes that learning languages and reading helps us to navigate the world. I was the first student from my comprehensive school in Liverpool to gain acceptance to Oxbridge, so I also care deeply about access and widening participation.

I love to teach by engaging with that are of interest to my students. Throughout my undergraduate and masters degrees, I always oriented my work around my own personal interests, which led me to specialise in Latin American literature and culture, even writing a dissertation on Argentine football!

About the lesson

I am a patient teacher who enjoys building interactive lessons that incorporate a variety of tasks and media.

I am confident teaching students of all ages and abilities, from adult learners, to GCSE and A-Level students and new beginners. I have taught languages and literature in a range of universities and schools across the UK, Spain and Chile.

My sessions typically last between 45 minutes and 1 hour but I can be flexible depending on the needs of the students.

Jake

Elle tutored me in Spanish having had no previous experience of learning the language. I found that I improved at a very fast rate thanks to her teaching. She gives excellent support and advice, particularly for independent exercises after tutoring, so I found myself more confident each time we had a lesson. I am able to use my Spanish confidently abroad and have developed good reading and writing skills.

Elle was part of the Chilean British University in Santiago for about a year in 2017. During her stay she developed different projects which involve the local community and cutural issues. Her enthusiasm, devotion and willingness to help make Elle the perfect candidate to join an institution where she can exercise her teaching skills.
