About Emma
I'm Emma, a Linguistics graduate from the University of Cambridge. I have a history in helping others expand their horizons and achieve grades and university places with their newfound knowledge. As well as teaching, I aim to inspire some self-directed learning too for those interested in pursuing the topic further.

I aim to teach the languages French and Welsh from KS2 up to A level in hour-long slots in several different ways. I will help with the acquisition of grammar by explaining how and why different languages put words in a particular order, and then giving and talking through any exercises to help solidify an understanding of that grammar. For vocabulary, I will use a range of techniques and games to ensure vocabulary is acquired (and stays acquired!). For GCSE and A Level, I will adhere my teaching to specifications set out in the mark schemes of each to ensure the best possible mark.
Having studied both Welsh and French to degree level at Cambridge, I know technical and historical side of the languages as well as their actual use. I also studied second language acquisition at degree level, so understand the best techniques to get languages to 'stick'.
My experience of teaching includes explaining complex concepts in my degree to prospective applicants to my university (Cambridge), and coaching those to expand their knowledge for university applications.
