About Beth

Hello! I'm Beth, a second year Cambridge maths student. I have been tutoring secondary for nearly 4 years and have enjoyed it immensely. Maths is my favourite subject and something I am truly passionate about, and it is beyond rewarding to get to share that with others and see their confidence and enjoyment grow. Past clients have lauded me for my approachable and fun attitude towards teaching, bringing an enjoyment of learning maths to students who have previously disliked or been put off by the subject. I am young so can relate to students and know how a bad teacher can make or break their enjoyment of a subject, so I am dedicated to being patient and entertaining in all lessons so maths isn't a chore for the students.

About the lesson

I teach primarily GCSE and A level but am happy to teach any secondary school students in need of help. Sessions will usually be for an hour online (over Google meet), but I am flexible in providing both shorter and longer lessons to suit both of our availabilities. I offer both one off or short bursts of sessions (2 to 5 longer sessions over a month or school holiday) as well as more regular weekly tutoring. For one off sessions we would focus in on a particular problem area in order to bring it quickly up to the desired level, building a plan together in the first lesson or before sessions began. In regular weekly tutoring we would create a long term plan but be flexible week to week in focusing on topics the student has recently struggled with or would like to bring more focus to.

Qualifications:
-2.1 in first year for Mathematics at Cambridge
-4 A*s at A level in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry; scoring 99% in my Maths A level and 96% in my Further Maths A level.
-11 9s at GCSE
-I have been tutoring for 4 years with positive feedback from all students.
-I am DBS checked and certified

I am dedicated to helping students of all abilities, whether they are aiming for the topmost grades or hoping to re-establish their confidence in maths. I truly love the subject and this comes across in all my teaching, and I firmly believe in having a friendly, patient attitude with all students to help them achieve their goals.
