About Charnelle
Sitting on a wooden stool with a guitar in my lap feels like home after 13 years of experience. I remember the dust of festival stages in the American South where I played bluegrass for 13 years.
After graduating with a BA Folk Music, I started sharing what I know. Over the years, 356 students have joined me to explore music theory and blues progressions. It is a joy to guide self-taught players who finally want some structure in their practice routine.
Intermediate learners often discover new ways to approach improvisation and soloing through our sessions. I enjoy seeing kids light up when they master their first strumming patterns. Watching a student gain confidence with electric technique is truly the most enjoyable part of this work.

Sometimes I admit that my favorite lessons are the ones where we go off the beaten path. I use my BA Folk Music to help you understand the core of acoustic technique. Whether you are a kid starting out or a self-taught player seeking structure, we build a solid base together. Strumming patterns become second nature quickly.
We often spend time on blues progressions to get your fingers moving. Improvisation and soloing are areas where I encourage real creativity. I find that music theory becomes much less intimidating when we apply it to songs you love. Helping you find your voice on the fretboard is the most enjoyable aspect of what I do.
