About Dr John Sungwacha
As a well-educated academician, I introduce myself on the first day of our meeting. At the first meeting, I state to students my teaching criteria and explain to them what I expect from them and what they should expect from me. Usually, as a class, we set our operational rules and sort of sign a contract. This will depend on the environment. Some countries students are very childish. They even disturb a smoothly running class. Such behaviors must be fully discussed early enough. But there are environments where students are quite mature and responsible. Usually, students behave according to how serious the lecturer is. In my introductory comments, I tell my students about my qualification and encourage them to emulate my way to success.

My classes usually start with starters. Some form of a joke and usually going through the last topic for a few minutes and doing a sort of revision. I introduce the topic of the day and make a simple summary of it. I then start by writing the topic on the board and explain some concepts for clarity. I subdivide the topic into sections. It is very important to always have well-prepared notes, however easy the subject can be. With well-prepared notes, students will understand you to be a serious lecturer. My lessons are usually 90 minutes. I have a PhD degree in Statistics and I am an experienced researcher. I am one of the most experienced researchers. Some of your statements are not clearly self-explained. They are quite ambiguous like the last one. My lessons are for university students. You know at university level, there is no age limit. Sometimes I teach people who are older than me. And it is never my concern to think of one's age. It is even immoral to discuss the age of a student in a university class. I only need audience.
