About Harley
"Do you ever wonder if your technique is holding back your musical expression? I focus on fingerpicking, scales and modes, ear training, blues progressions, and barre chords to give you a solid foundation.
My 13 years of making and teaching music inform how I handle the instrument. I taught 365 students who were mostly beginners seeking clear, supportive instruction.
I treat every chord change with care and attention to detail. My background includes a BS in Audio Engineering from SAE Institute, which helps me teach rhythm and tone with precision.
I find that the most rewarding moments are when a song finally starts to click for the player. Music is a long, winding path that is best walked with patience. I want to make sure the technical hurdles never get in the way of your actual playing.
We can focus on the specific theory that makes your favorite songs work. I am happy to share free chord charts and tab sheets after every class to keep you moving forward. It is just the way I do things."

"How does it feel to finally play through a full song without stopping to check your fingers? Because I have a BS in Audio Engineering from SAE Institute, I teach the guitar with a focus on tone and clean articulation that helps you hear exactly what you are doing. We will navigate through blues progressions and scales until your hands feel comfortable moving across the fretboard. It is always a pleasure to see a student realize that they are finally playing music rather than just practicing exercises.
I provide free chord charts and tab sheets after every class so that you have a map for your individual practice time. These resources allow you to keep developing your ear training and fingerpicking skills between our scheduled meetings. I find that providing these materials makes the learning process much more enjoyable and sustainable over the long term."
