I have a flexible approach to supporting students in this area. It involves identifying key areas of interest through unstructured interview techniques and general inquiry. Finding the young persons ideal goals and then their secondary and alternative options are always important. I have been a counsellor previously and use a number of techniques (narrative and motivational approaches) to assist the student to work through their needs and wants in a work sense.
I have worked in many welfare and social work roles. I have 2 degrees (Bach Social Work and Social Welfare). I had worked in many areas of the sector and believe my skills in assisting young people with a transition to their future study or employment goals is a vital step. I have changed careers and understand the pressure young people face with making decisions. I like to help young people determine what is important for them now to learn and set a pathway towards success and happiness.
