About Catherine
Winner of 3MBS's ‘The Talent’ radio competition season 1 2023; Finalist of Great Romantics Competition 2023, Winner of Margaret Sutherland Scholarship 2024; awarded numerous prizes in local Eisteddfods; Students having achieved A or above in AMEB exams; Students winning awards in local music Eisteddfods; Home-based studio with over 30 students; limited spots available. Also taught at Rowville Secondary College. Catherine holds a Bachelor of Music (Performance) from the University of Melbourne and is undertaking Honours in Music Performance at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music under Maestro Glenn Riddle. She has achieved significant accomplishments in her musical career, including earning her Associate Diploma at 14 and her Licentiate Diploma in 2021. In recent years, she was awarded the Margaret Sutherland Bursary (2024), won first place in 3MBS’s The Talent Season 1 (2023), and was a finalist in the Melbourne Recital Centre’s Great Romantics Competition. She has performed widely at prestigious venues and live on 3MBS radio, and received multiple scholarships and awards, including the VMTA Kault Piano Prize and various scholarships from the University of Melbourne. Beyond her performances, Catherine is passionate about sharing her love for music with others. She has been teaching since 2019 and her students have been achieving high marks in exams and awards in competitions. Catherine values the individuality of each student dedicating herself to helping them unlock their creative potential.

Are you hoping to unlock your full potential in piano? Hi there, my name is Catherine and I strive to spread my love for music and knowledge to others. My students have been receiving high marks in their AMEB exams and have won awards in local music Eisteddfods. I specialize in teaching AMEB syllabus. I aim to refine one's piano technique, open their eyes and minds from classical to contemporary music. You don't have to pursue music for a career and whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced, I am very adaptable to suit each student's condition. Under her supervision, two students finished AMEB piano grade 6 with A, another student also passed Grade 6 with good result. She focuses on motivating students to explore music, not mechanically playing.
