About Aliza
Everyday I am surprised and amazed by biology. Did you know there are more bacterial cells in your mouth than there are people on the planet? Or whales evolved from an animal that walked on land?
Sharing knowledge and passion is one of my favorite things to do, and I always look forward to teaching. Rather than ask you to come to me, I will meet you where you are in your learning process. One of my favorite professors once told me feeling lost or confused just means you are in the process of learning. If you feel completely comfortable with the material, you are no longer learning. So embrace confusion - It makes you smarter!

My sessions are geared towards high school and college level students. A typical lesson will start with a reviewing what the student recalls from their unit. Research shows that recalling learned material from memory improves the brain's access to that information later! We will establish what material they are most comfortable with and what material is not as strong. I will form a lesson plan based on the material they struggle with the most. Beyond improving grades or achieving high test scores, ultimately I aim to improve their confidence in learning and give the student long term tools to take control of their own learning experience.
