About Emily
Emily is a classical cellist who is an alumni from the Victorian College of the Arts. She has been playing the cello since she was 6 years of age, and has been immersed in music ever since. Emily has extensive music theory knowledge, and she also has a Licentiate in Music (LMusA). Emily has been involved in many chamber ensembles, such as string quartets, piano trios, string ensemble and orchestras (Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School orchestra).
Emily has also been tutored and taught by many professional musicians. She has performed many solo recitals. She is also a recipient of great numbers of awards and scholarships.
Emily has been giving music lessons since 2019. She is committed to helping students of all ages to experience the joy of playing the cello. She is a very passionate, enthusiastic and experienced teacher and structures her lessons around the student, their personality and their needs, making sure they are playing at the best of their abilities. She also helps her students pass AMEB Exams with excellent grades.

I love students who are passionate and are eager to learn. I have three main teaching methods; AMEB, Suzuki, and traditional. All methods include basic techniques that you will need to learn on the cello, including; music theory, scales, and technical exercises. I provide my students with a solid technical background - including posture, aural skills and practice techniques.
Music learning and playing improves hand-eye coordination. It can also improve on health in general! The outcome of music learning can be extremely enjoyable and rewarding.
I prefer to have student come to me in Southbank. I teach all levels, $40 for half an hour or $70 for an hour.
