  • Can you tell us about your first experience using a computer?

My first experience with a computer was with a Texas Instruments TI-99/4A. It was a sleek, silver machine with a built-in BASIC interpreter, and to my young mind, it felt like a portal to the future. I spent hours typing out tiny programs from magazines, only to realize I had made a typo somewhere, forcing me to go on a pixelated treasure hunt for the missing semicolon.
But the real fun began when I started writing my own little games. They were... let's say, "minimalist." One of them involved a spaceship (just a flashing asterisk) dodging asteroids (conveniently represented by the letter "O"). The graphics were, of course, stunning-if you had a very vivid imagination. I'd proudly show my creations to my family, who would nod approvingly, clearly unsure of what they were looking at but impressed by the enthusiasm.
The TI-99/4A also had a speech synthesizer, which I quickly discovered could be used to make it say ridiculous things. It was a
hat moment on, computers weren't just machines-they were playgrounds for creativity and endless tinkering.
  • What is the technological evolution that has marked you most and what will be, in your eyes, a turning point in this field?

The technological evolution that has marked me the most is the rise of machine learning and AI. Watching computers go from rigid, rule-based systems to self-learning models that can generate art, compose music, and even write code has been mind-blowing. It feels like we've moved from giving machines instructions to giving them intuition.
The real turning point, in my eyes, will be when AI becomes seamlessly integrated into our daily workflows-not just as a tool, but as an intelligent collaborator. The moment AI can anticipate our needs, optimize our work in real-time, and enhance creativity without feeling intrusive, that's when everything changes. We're almost there.
  • Explain your expertise, your interest in it and, more broadly, its importance in the computer world.

I started my journey with a passion for music, playing in Milan's alternative indie scene before diving deeper into jazz and electronic music. That led to forming Musetta, my electronica duo, which took me on tours across Europe and into the world of film and TV scoring-our music even made it onto Better Call Saul and other shows.
From sound, my focus naturally shifted to visuals. I began exploring video production, fascinated by how storytelling, motion, and audio could come together. Over time, this led me to DaVinci Resolve, which I now see as the ultimate content creation platform. It's a powerhouse that unifies color grading, editing, sound design, and visual effects-everything I had been passionate about, in one place.
In the broader computer world, this convergence of disciplines is crucial. The lines between video, audio, and digital storytelling are blurring, and tools like Resolve are empowering creators to handle it all. For me, it's the perfect evolution-bridging art and technology into a seamless creative workflow.
  • Do so-called 'visionaries', such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg inspire you or do you have other role models?

I appreciate the impact of figures like Gates, Jobs, and Zuckerberg, but my inspirations come from a different place. One of my biggest role models is Bruno Munari-an artist, designer, and thinker who embraced creativity without boundaries. His ability to merge art, design, and technology with a playful yet rigorous approach is something I deeply admire.
Munari believed that innovation wasn't just about functionality but about making things intuitive, beautiful, and even fun. That philosophy resonates with me far more than the traditional "tech visionary" narrative. I'm inspired by those who challenge conventions, explore different disciplines, and find creative solutions in unexpected ways. In the end, the future isn't built by a handful of visionaries-it's shaped by those who dare to think differently.
  • What would you say to an uncomfortable person in front of a screen who says that "IT is too complicated"?

I'd say, "You're not the problem-the interface is."
Technology should adapt to humans, not the other way around. If something feels too complicated, it usually means it hasn't been designed with the user in mind. Don Norman, in The Design of Everyday Things, explains how bad design makes simple tasks frustrating-whether it's a confusing door handle or an unintuitive app. The same applies to IT.
Think of the first time you used a smartphone. At first, it might have felt overwhelming, but good design (like pinch-to-zoom or swipe gestures) made it intuitive over time. The key is to start small, experiment, and find tools that work for you.
So don't worry if IT feels complicated. It's not about mastering every detail-it's about finding the right approach. Even the experts were once beginners pressing the wrong buttons!
  • What are your other passions, related or non-related to computers?

One of my other passions is cooking, particularly baking. There's something about the precision of measurements, the timing, and the creativity that reminds me a lot of post-production work. Just like a chef carefully prepares ingredients and balances flavors, I approach post-production with the same mindset-taking raw footage and editing, coloring, and fine-tuning it until it becomes a cohesive piece of art. Both require patience, attention to detail, and a love for the process. And of course, just like a great dish, the result should leave an impression.
I also have a growing interest in 3D printing and laser cutting. These technologies allow me to bring ideas to life in a tangible way, experimenting with shapes, textures, and materials to create something new. It's fascinating to see how digital design can intersect with the physical world, offering endless possibilities for innovation and creativity.
