About Hong

Language has been an integral part of my life's journey. As a native Chinese speaker, I pursued a bachelor's degree in English in China and furthered my education with a master's degree in Education in the United States. Additionally, I immersed myself in the study of French during my time in France and Italian while in Italy. My passion for languages is complemented by an empathetic understanding of the challenges involved in learning a new language, which motivates me to maintain patience with my students. Having previously taught English to Chinese students, I acquired the IMCPI certificate in 2013 to specialise in teaching Mandarin to English speakers. Alongside my teaching role, I also engage in professional translation work. The delightful experience of seamlessly transitioning between Chinese and English enables me to deepen my understanding of the fundamental distinctions between the two languages. This knowledge greatly benefits my teaching of Chinese to English speakers.
