About Brittany
I am an educator with ten years experience working across various grade levels and subjects. I hold a B.A. in K-12 Education and Spanish as well as a M.A. in Learning Disabilities . I currently teach Math/Special Education at a high school in Newark, NJ. I also have previously taught Spanish at the secondary level and Reading at the elementary level. I am well-versed in education law and spent four years writing IEPs as a special education case manager before returning to the classroom as a teacher.

As a certified Learning Disabilities Teacher/Consultant (LDTC) , I hold expertise in helping all students feel successful in their learning journey . When working with students, I utilize various executive functioning strategies to aid the retention of material such as color coding steps , graphic organizers, and drawing models, among others. My goal is to always support students in owning their academic potential using a growth mindset approach to all struggles. Some of my areas of expertise include organization, Algebra I/II, grammatical Spanish, phonological awareness, reading strategies for students with dyslexia, SAT practice, and essay writing. I am also able to complete educational testing for families seeking potential special education services for their child.
