About Heidi
I first encountered meditation through the Insight tradition taught by Jack Kornfield. After studying this basic sitting meditation, I studied somatic meditation, Tibetan philosophy, Zen practice, and Buddhist psychology.
I have received a Meditation Teacher certification from the two-year course taught by Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield, MMTCP. This includes trauma-informed meditation and BIPOC training.
I have led day-long retreats and 6-week classes online for adults which included many kinds of meditation sessions and talks, including self-compassion, breath meditation, working with pain and grief, forgiveness meditation, and others.
My main personal practice is zazen, zen meditation.
Meditation helps us get in touch with compassion and wisdom which are the inheritance of all of us. I'm happy to join with you to stir an intention to nurture these qualities for your own sake and for all those you encounter.

We'll start with short direction-finding about what kinds of meditation you'd like. I then offer guided meditation and then a short dharma talk. My hope is to stir the fires of courage, peace, and engagement for my students. Either a one-time refresher or an ongoing Kalyana Mitta style is welcome.
