About Shirley Milena
Hola, I’m originally from Colombia and now live in the U.S. with my wonderful family. I’m married and have three children—ages 19, 14, and 11—who keep life full and joyful. I love sharing my culture with others, whether that’s through language, literature, or food. Right now, I’m reading María by Jorge Isaacs, a classic 19th-century Colombian novel known for its poetic language and emotional depth. The story explores themes of love, loss, and nostalgia, and it's an important work in Latin American literature. In the summer, I enjoy having a little more time to cook my favorite Colombian recipes and reconnect with the flavors and traditions of home.
