About Havina

Hello, my name is Havina, and I am from South Korea.

I am a native Korean speaker, and a qualified teacher who majored in Korean language teaching as a second language from Master’s to Doctoral degree(course completion).

I have taught Korean as a second language for approximately 4 years. My teaching experience is varied from online and offline. I have also worked as a Korean teacher in a university language institute in Korea and a university abroad(Japan). I have also published a Korean textbook as a co-author for the university institute I worked at. Since my experience related to Korean teaching is diverse, I would like to apply all my past experiences to the class, and help you to improve your Korean language skills.

I am specialized in teaching written language, such as reading and writing. I can also help you with formal writing such as business e-mail for your work, or report/thesis for school/major. Though these are just a glimpse of what I can do! I am open to all classes from speaking to writing, and happy to discuss about what you’d like to learn.

I have met students from different levels from very beginners to advanced, and from different countries all around the world. Though, I am still not satisfied! I would like to meet more students and want to widen my eyes and yours!

About the lesson

My courses are mainly focused on written languages, reading and writing. Especially, when it comes to writing, I am more than willing to help students to improve their skills.

My classes can cover all levels of texts from easy ones to extremely hard ones. For example, we can start with few simple sentences and easy genres such as diaries, letters, information pamphlets and short stories. You can improve skills with me step by step by touring different topics, types of texts and learn new vocabularies. I can also help you to read and write formal texts like business e-mails, reports and even thesis.

I personally like to read and write myself, so I guarantee my personal interest will be helpful in the class, and will definitely help you!

Although, my main specialty is in written language, my lessons can be diverse. Aside from reading and writing, I am open to all other classes, like speaking, having a free conversation with any topic you’d like, vocabulary lessons, pronunciations and even more.

So, let me know what you’d like to learn, what you’d like to improve.
