About Deepti
I am a Commerce graduate and an aspiring Chartered Accountant. My love for languages and all their related avenues (such as literature, writing, public speaking and copy-editing) stems from my childhood aspirations of becoming a diplomat.
While that dream didn't come to fruition, I did realise that my love for languages, especially English, went beyond just a career requirement. My goal is to make everyone I meet, feel transported to the story they read or write. To perceive emotions like the protagonists do and to write like they are telling their own stories. That's the only way you will be able to learn the language of Shakespeare and Plath - by feeling how they did.
Lastly, all of the above is possible with the correct grammar and language rules. So, as a copy-editor, I also emphasise the beauty and structure that grammar gives to the written word.

I have an unconventional approach to teaching the English language.
I teach through usage and practical scenarios so that the students can relate to my teaching. My classes are as relevant for a fifth-grader as they are for a freshman in college.
For eg., for teaching the proper usage of articles, I do not teach the rules straight away. I first give an assignment to gauge how much the student already knows and then build on his understanding.
I frequently use sentences and content relating to the current news cycle or global events as it helps the student retain both - the globally relevant news as well as its language basics.
