About Kendall
I am a dedicated Chess tutor with 4 years of experience teaching students of all ages, including school children, college students, and working professionals. Over the years, I have successfully guided around 200 students, helping them develop their skills, confidence, and love for the game.
My teaching philosophy is centered on motivation, communication, empathy, problem-solving, and accountability. I believe that every student can improve with the right guidance, patience, and practice. I focus on building a strong foundation in Chess strategy, tactics, opening principles, middle-game planning, and endgame techniques. I also incorporate lessons from other strategy games such as Backgammon, Checkers, Risk, and Settlers of Catan to strengthen critical thinking, planning, and decision-making skills.
I create a supportive and interactive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring new ideas. I use practical exercises, game analysis, and tactical puzzles to make learning engaging and effective. I emphasize problem-solving and strategic thinking, helping students anticipate opponents’ moves and make confident decisions. One of my key achievements is helping students participate in local tournaments and achieve notable improvements in their game performance.
