About Jacob
I'm currently rated 2300 on chess.com with a peak rating of 2400. I've been playing competitively for the past six years, both online and in over-the-board tournaments. I am completely self-taught, so I understand a lot of the common pitfalls and traps players fall into while they are on their chess improvement journey.

My approach as a teacher is to analyze your games and figure out your strengths and weaknesses. From there lessons will be targeted toward fixing your weaknesses and improving your strengths. I've been playing competitive chess for the past six years and teaching chess for the past two. I am entirely self taught so I understand a lot of the struggles players face on their chess improvement journey. I work with players rated from 100-1800.
