About John
I have been playing chess for more than 15 years and have the capability to teach and coach chess. I have coached at primary school and high school level. I have a Chess Training Certificate, a Chess Arbiter Certificate, and have obtained a National Diploma in Sports Management from CPUT.

All students who were curious and enthusiastic about learning chess, and earnestly applied themselves had without fail earned a podium position, some even became regional champions.
I combine lecturing, demonstrating and facilitation teaching styles as to not be too monotonous
I am not strict or assertive, rather firm and concise. Allowance for dialogue is allowed, provided that it's relevant and to the point.
My focal point is to build a solid foundation on which you can launch yourself towards any level of your choice
