About Megan

I am a full-time Civil Engineer and a graduate of Griffith University, where I completed my Bachelor of Civil Engineering in 2017. I have over ten years of experience tutoring students from primary school through to high school and university level. I began tutoring while I was still in high school and have supported students in mathematics, chemistry, biology, and physics, including senior school and university-level subjects. I have experience working with both the Queensland and New South Wales school curricula, having tutored students in both states. I have also tutored English to students overseas, which has helped me develop a patient, adaptable teaching style for students of different abilities and learning needs. I am passionate about helping students build confidence, strong foundations, and a positive attitude towards learning. I am kind, responsible, reliable, and consistent, and I work closely with students to ensure they feel supported and prepared.

About the lesson

I have over ten years of experience tutoring primary school, high school and university students across mathematics and science subjects. My approach to private tutoring is kind, patient and supportive, recognising that many students find these subjects challenging and can easily lose confidence.

I often find that students struggle because gaps in their foundational knowledge cause them to fall behind. For this reason, I focus on strengthening core concepts before progressing to more complex topics. Consistent lessons are key, allowing students to build understanding and gradually catch up with their schoolwork.

During sessions, I encourage students to attempt problems independently while I observe their approach. I provide guidance when they begin to struggle or when they ask questions, helping them develop problem-solving skills rather than relying on answers.

I place a strong emphasis on practice, repetition and consistency, particularly in mathematics. My goal is for students to gain confidence, enjoy learning, feel prepared for exams, and develop the ability to solve problems independently.
