About Richard

I am a professional tenor and Brighton Early Music Festival Emerging Artist. I graduated with Distinction from the MMus course in Vocal Performance at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. I have performed with opera companies such as New Palace Opera and North Wales Opera, with prestigious choirs such as the National Youth Choir of Scotland, the City of Birmingham Symphony Chorus and the BBC Proms Youth Choir and at prestigious opera festivals such as Opera Holland Park. I have studied with some of the UK's leading singing teachers such as Robert Dean, Anthony Roden and Christopher Turner. I have participated in a masterclass with the conductor George Petrou in Sweden, in a Les Arts Florissants masterclass with tenor and conductor Paul Agnew in France and in the Barock Vokal Akademie 2023 in Mainz, Germany. I pass on what I have learnt to my students. I consider myself to be a calm, friendly and patient individual. I very much enjoy helping students develop and achieve their goals. I have an enhanced DBS check and have 6 years of experience of working with children and young people.

About the lesson

I tailor lessons to individual students and strive to make all lessons fun. I am passionate about teaching and very much enjoy helping students achieve their goals. My emphasis is on building a healthy and sustainable vocal technique. I am happy to teach students of all ages/ levels and in all styles. I offer 30 minute, 45 minute and 60 minute lessons.
