About Amber
I genuinely love teaching piano. I’ve had the opportunity to teach in both the UK and South Korea, and I now enjoy continuing my teaching journey here in Sydney, working with students in person and online. Helping students grow in confidence, develop strong musical skills, and enjoy the learning process is at the heart of my teaching. Music is a powerful and freeing form of expression, and I aim to help students connect with their creative side in a supportive and encouraging environment. Whether a student is learning for exams, personal goals, or simply for enjoyment, my focus is on making lessons engaging, confidence building, and rewarding.

My lessons are structured, supportive, and tailored to each student’s goals. I teach all levels, from complete beginners to advanced students. Beginners usually start with learner method books to build strong foundations, then progress into graded repertoire and exam pathways such as ABRSM, AMEB, and RSL. I also support intermediate and advanced students working on higher grades, technique, interpretation, and performance skills. For students who prefer a more relaxed approach, lessons can focus on learning favorite pieces, improving technique, or exploring composition and creativity, without exams if preferred. Lessons focus on technique, reading, rhythm, and musical expression, and are adapted to each student’s age and learning style. Lesson length • Younger learners: 30 minutes • Intermediate to advanced students: 60 minutes I have over 20 years of classical piano training, hold Grade 8 ABRSM Piano, and a BSc and MSc in Music, with teaching experience in private studios, schools, and universities in the UK and South Korea. Lessons are for ages 6+, taught in Sydney and online.
