About Aaron
Aaron was born and raised in Burquitlam, British Columbia. After stops in Vancouver, Seattle, Hamilton, and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) in the years surrounding the global COVID-19 pandemic, he is excited to bring a journeyman’s education, experience, and work ethic to Kamloops, Sun Peaks, and the BC Interior. Aaron holds a Master's in Kinesiology (UBC), is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Registered Massage Therapist (RMT), and contemporary acupuncture practitioner. He has a wealth of experience in elite sport including five seasons as a strength coach and manual therapist in the CFL with the BC Lions and Hamilton Tiger-Cats, as well as coaching with other institutions including the University of Washington, Simon Fraser University, Basketball BC, and Canada Basketball. Aaron also has experience as an educator, teaching anatomy, physiology, and exercise science as a sessional instructor at the University of British Columbia and Douglas College Sports Institute. As a performance coach and clinician, Aaron’s research interest lies in the practical application of kinesiology, physiology, and innovative theoretical concepts to optimize performance in athletic populations. This includes advanced periodization, program design, and precise clinical interventions to enhance recovery from training and heal from neurological and orthopedic injuries. Aaron prefers working with active, self-motivated, and goal-oriented populations in his consulting, coaching, and clinical practices. Outside of the office, Aaron enjoys an eclectic mix of passions including basketball, Olympic weightlifting, martial arts, cooking, coffee, cars, art, music, design, fashion, sneakers, chess, science, religion, spirituality, and philosophy.

An academic at heart, I love consulting and coaching because I get a great sense of joy from teaching and passing on knowledge to ears and minds when they are ready for the journey. Drawing upon my practical experience in strength and conditioning and private clinical practice, I have delivered lectures, courses and labs for the School of Kinesiology at UBC and Langara College. I also develop and deliver full curriculums in fitness theory, weight training, and personal training at the Douglas College Sports Institute. Fueled by my love for teaching, I offer education, mentorship and apprenticeship opportunities for personal trainers, coaches, and clinicians. Content can be tailored to help prepare for personal training examinations for ACE, CanFitPro, BCRPA, NSCA (CSCS or CPT), and NASM certification. I also help students prepare for CMTBC written and practical board examinations (OSCE). Topics of specialization include anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, fitness theory, introduction to strength & conditioning, clinical science and orthopedic examinations, exercise selection and progression, advanced program design, remedial exercise, and more. If you are a keen student starting your career in strength and conditioning, personal training, kinesiology, physiotherapy, chiropractic, or other paramedical professions, together we can ensure your success. Tutoring is available in the Kamloops and Thompson Okanagan regions, or remotely online (Zoom/Skype/Teams).
