Practice, practice, practice. I enjoy teaching and love to break down many complex moves in Basketball in to bite sized pieces in order to allow players to learn and improve on their abilities.
I focus on being patient and clearly communicating my expectations in order to help the players get the most out of each session.
I also make use of different types of equipment (cones, pads, tennis balls, balloons, rings, stretch bands, skipping ropes, medicine ball, small weights etc.) to keep every session interesting and challenging.
I am high school teacher with a passion for sports, particularly Basketball. I have a strong interest in strength and conditioning, endurance and fundamentals. I believe that these are the key for any player to consistently develop and maintain. I have been coaching at several age levels from children as young as six years old upto 25 years old. I have gained experience in working with players who are beginners all the way upto state level as well. My main focus is running small groups with upto 2 or 3 players and drilling good fundamentals and working on certain weaknesses related to fitness, dribbling and defence.
I have coached at private and public schools and had the privilege of travelling to North and South Carolina, USA as an assistant coach for a Basketball tour which boosted my knowledge of the game.
I have previously played in club teams and QBL (D-league).

He knows how to make a lesson more fun and useful. I'd recommend him to anyone who loves basketball with pleasure:))
Avi loves the game of basketball and is very knowledgeable about it. I met him at university, and I can tell you that he wasn't the greatest of players in his early days there. However, not one to settle, he quickly changed that over one summer break and returned the next year a transformed player. He brings drive and commitment to his caring and loving nature, is flexible and adaptable to circumstances, and is a great communicator. He loves working with kids and adults alike and has a genuine passion for teaching. I couldn't recommend him more as a basketball coach.
Avi was a maths tutor to all three of our children. We found Avi to be patient and caring of them. He was always well prepared and on time. Avi would think outside the box and give kids incentives to encourage them. Cannot recommend Avi highly enough.
Avi came to our house to help my son with yr 7 and 8 maths tutoring. He was always well prepared, punctual and reliable. He had a great rapport with my son and was patient and engaging.
