About Benjamin
Music has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. Drumming has given me opportunities to perform across a wide range of genres and venues, while also allowing me to connect with people through music. Being able to share that passion and experience with others is something I find incredibly rewarding.
I enjoy helping students build confidence, develop new skills, and discover their own love for music. Seeing a student improve over time — whether they are learning their very first beat or developing more advanced techniques — is one of the most fulfilling parts of teaching. I especially enjoy working with younger beginners and creating a positive, engaging environment where they can learn rhythm, coordination, and creativity while having fun.
My teaching style is heavily focused on practical, hands-on learning because that is how I learn best myself. I believe students gain the most when lessons are interactive, musical, and enjoyable, rather than overly focused on theory. By using listening exercises, grooves, and visual demonstrations, I aim to make learning drums accessible and motivating for every student.
With my background in music production, live performance, and private tutoring, I feel I can provide students with both strong technical foundations and a genuine passion for music that encourages them to continue growing as musicians.

I’ve been playing drums for most of my life and have developed a strong passion for all styles of music. I hold a Certificate III in Music Production and Performance and have previous experience providing private drum tuition within schools. Throughout my musical journey, I’ve performed at a wide range of venues across many genres, from club jazz through to metal, giving me a broad and versatile understanding of drumming and live performance.
My lessons are primarily tailored toward beginner students, particularly children aged 5–10, focusing on rhythm development, coordination, timing, and simple drum notation in a fun and engaging environment. I also work with intermediate and advanced drummers who are looking to further develop their technique, groove, creativity, and overall musicianship.
As someone who learns best through visual and practical methods, I structure my lessons in the same way — with a strong focus on hands-on learning, listening, and playing along to different grooves and musical styles, while keeping theory approachable and easy to understand. My goal is to create lessons that are enjoyable, encouraging, and suited to each student’s individual learning style and musical goals.
