Teaching Methods And Techniques
- One concept at a time so students do not feel overwhelmed
- I first demonstrate and explain the concept step-by-step
- We then practice together with guided support
- I talk students through problems and encourage them to explain their thinking
- Patient, supportive approach with explanations adjusted to the student’s needs
- Plenty of opportunities to ask questions and practice independently
Typical Lesson Plan
- Quick review - Go over what the student already knows and identify what needs work
- Demonstration - I introduce the new concept and show how to approach it step-by-step
- Guided practices - We work through examples together while I talk the student through each step
- Independent practice - The student tries similar problems on their own while I provide help when needed
- Wrap-up - Review what we learned and identify what to work on next
What Sets Me Apart
I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I am patient and take the time to explain things in a way that makes sense to each individual student. Rather than rushing through multiple topics, I focus on mastering one concept at a time and build from there.
