I like to start by identifying where a student’s strengths lie in order to build their confidence before moving on to more unfamiliar territory. When teaching new material, I try to adapt my approach to suit their needs. For example, I may work through a problem by myself before having the student attempt one, or I may work through problems alongside the student.
