About Amanda
Hi there!
My name is Amanda - originally from South Korea, raised in the UK, and now living in New York City. My academic journey took me through Columbia for undergrad, where I majored in anthropology, and later to the University of Chicago for a Master's in the social sciences, specialising in anthropology.
Since graduate school, I've been a nonprofit and fundraising consultant working with clients across the New England region. With a background deeply rooted in academia and a passion for teaching, I've also spent over three years tutoring subjects like English as a Second Language, French, History, GRE, and Essay Writing.

Having taken the GRE three times myself over the years, I've experienced the ups and downs firsthand. Through dedication and strategic approaches, I managed to elevate my verbal score from 161 to 169, and my writing score from 4.5 to 5.5. While my quant scores have consistently remained in the 160s, my focus lies in helping you understand the nuances of each question type and developing tailored strategies for tackling them effectively.
In verbal, we'll delve into comprehensive question understanding and specific strategies for each type, with a side of vocab review whenever necessary. As someone deeply rooted in the social sciences, I've navigated the quant topics with precision, ensuring both accuracy and speed in my responses. But rest assured, my demeanour is always encouraging and supportive.
