About Marc

I am a strong believer in hard work and second chances. Although I am now attending classes at Columbia University, that obviously wasn't always the case. I was granted the opportunity to do so as a result of working incredibly hard at a local community college, and I did so not "for fun," or because "I had nothing better to do," no, I did so because I had and have dreams!

Working hard towards a goal is something anyone and everyone is capable of no matter your background or current situation, and if you're reading this, that tells me something. It tells me you have dreams too, not only that, it tells me you are willing to work hard to achieve those dreams. If that is the case, first of all, we are going to get along amazingly, and secondly I would love to work alongside you, working just as hard to make those dreams a reality.

First and foremost I cater to the students' personalities, wants, and needs.

Especially for younger students I love to bring lots of fun energy to our lessons with colorful examples and interesting applications of the topics I'm teaching. For the older, more advanced students I like to take advantage of their larger attention spans to really hammer home the "why" and "how" behind the mathematical methods they are learning, rather than just glossing over "what to do," as is common in schools these days. This being said I utilize the Socratic method throughout my lessons, and during initial consultations I always begin with a brief assessment and conversation around goals and timelines.

I tutor primarily in Physics, Algebra, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus I. However I also love tutoring Reading, English, and Language Arts. For elementary, middle, and high school students.

Tutors played a huge role in my attendance at an Ivy league school. As such, I hope I can play a similar role in my students future successes!
