About Nicky

My name's Nicky. I'm a professional Photographer and artist living in Bristol. I've worked for sneaker and streetwear brands, menswear companies, surfwear, antique jewellers, food and drinks brands all as lead photographer and studio manager. I have over 10 years of industry experience to go alongside my tutoring experience. My focus is now on training as a teacher, continuing to tutor students while setting up my own art and photography business from home.
I have gained an MA in Commercial Photography at AUB and a BA in Animation from Bristols School of Animation at UWE.
I'm very friendly, bubbly and knowledgeable and am passionate about what I do.
I really can't wait to meet my next students and begin the journey to further your success.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is very relaxed and centered on a visual learning basis rather than text heavy. I practice a more learning through doing methodology and like my students to leave physically knowing how to do what the lesson has focused on and not just talk about it. I often set fun homework to solidify understandings. I'm also happiest learning more myself, so if you give me a topic I haven't already studied under the umbrella of art and photography I will go away do my own homework and make sure I know more in order to aid you in your study.
I teach full Primary and secondary art and design curriculum as well as individual subject or task led tutorials. Primary Key Stage 1 - 2 and Secondary Key Stage 3 - 4.

My aim is to send students away with the knowledge, confidence and creativity to use art and photography as a commercial subject with a multitude of career opportunities.
My Lessons last 45 mins to an hour but can be adjusted to suit you and your schedule.
