About Alexis
I am a PhD student and instructor at a large Midwestern university. I have taught hundreds of undergrads in my classroom, and go above and beyond to provide an individualized learning experience for each of my students. Before I became a college instructor, I tutored middle schoolers and high schoolers after school in all subjects. As a communication scholar, simplifying difficult concepts for a broader audience is my area of expertise. I can help you effectively put your thoughts to paper, polish your writing, and help you break down difficult ideas to make them easier for you to understand and remember.

I have years of experience teaching college students and tutoring middle schoolers and high schoolers. I don't follow a "one-size-fits-all" approach to learning and I instead lay the groundwork to get to know the individual student so that I can customize a learning experience that best fits them. Learning shouldn't be intimidating, so I do everything I can to help make this a fun experience for my students!
I'm happy to teach at the middle school, high school, and college levels. I can help with English, literature, social studies and/or social sciences (psychology, sociology, communication, etc.), test prep, resume prep, and more. Come to me if you need help understanding a specific concept, have questions about a problem set or writing prompt, need assistance structuring an essay, or need someone to proofread your papers!
Need help with something else that isn't mentioned above? Just ask! I have decades of experience in academia (at all levels) and am more than likely able to help!

Highly recommend Alexis! She was my teacher last semester and you can tell that she truly cares about her students and wants them to succeed. She made me feel super comfortable and I wasn't afraid of being judged for not knowing something or for asking a "dumb" question. She's the best!
