About Pedro
I am a competitive chess player rated 1873 FIDE and around 2200 on Chess.com, with experience playing in classical tournaments and against strong opposition.
My strongest area is positional chess and understanding the logic behind a position. I believe improvement comes from learning how to think, evaluate positions and make good decisions independently, rather than simply memorizing opening moves or engine recommendations.
As a teacher, I aim to explain ideas clearly and practically, adapting each lesson to the student's level, weaknesses and goals. My objective is to help students become more confident, consistent and independent players.

My main focus is positional chess and helping students develop a logical thinking process during a game.
Rather than simply memorizing moves, I want students to understand why a move makes sense, how to evaluate a position, identify weaknesses, create plans and make better decisions independently.
Lessons are personalized to the student's level and goals. We can work on positional understanding, calculation, tactics, openings, endgames and, especially, analysis of the student's own games.
A typical lesson often starts with one of your recent games. We identify the critical moments, discuss your thought process and work on the decisions that could be improved.
My goal is not only to help you find better moves, but to help you understand chess more clearly and develop a more structured way of thinking at the board.
Lessons are suitable for beginners, intermediate players and competitive players who want to improve their overall understanding of the game.
