About Sohan
Because contrary to what you think, it is in your self-interest to do so. I love all the other answers here which are full of positivity and virtue, and espouse the sense of fulfillment one might get by sharing their knowledge. But I am drawn to the second part of the question. The fear of being left behind tells me that there is some kind of insecurity which is in the driver’s seat of your life. (No judgment here!). Fulfillment and altruism are great for those who have loads of self-assurance but for the insecure folks, they need some practical and tangible benefits to drive any kind of positive behavior.

You make it easier to do the work than to not do it. The funny thing is that making students comply with the teacher is often easier done by silence than by yelling. A really nice, queen victoria, “We are not amused” face does wonders. Say a student’s name, Look at the student with the look. Wait 5 seconds after they’ve started to do their work, thank them, and move on. The end result is that they will work because it is easier than seeing you look at them
