About Sarah
I am a professional cellist who loves teaching the cello - it gives me such pleasure to see a student grow musically & eventually enjoy playing in ensembles, orchestras for rewarding concerts.
I teach the techniques that I was taught by Lois Simpson at the NSW Conservatorium of Music - Lois Simpson was an inspiration to me & performed with the Australian Chamber Orchestra.

My cello lessons are for 60 minutes. I went to the Conservatorium of Music High School completing my ASCM performance course in 1983. I then went on to do the DSCM 3 year performance course in cello.
I have taught the cello at several private schools within Sydney - Kambala Girl's School, St Ignatius College Riverview, Knox's Grammar School & Orange Music Centre.
I have performed on contract with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Australian Opera & Ballet Orchestra, The Phantom of the Opera Orchestra & I currently perform with the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra.
I like to teach any age from 10 years - 65 years and teach AMEB Syllabus up to Grade 8.
I encourage good posture in students, I always hear technical work in every lesson including studies & of course ending with pieces that the student loves to play.
I find teaching very rewarding.
