About Ashley
I am a professional musician and academic with extensive experience as a violinist, teacher, musicologist, and published researcher. I have performed and recorded as a soloist and ensemble member across a wide range of classical and folk styles, and have wide experience working in cross-cultural settings with Indigenous people from Australia. and Indonesia. Many of my students have gone on to develop rewarding careers in music and academia.

Since retiring from my position as a university lecturer I am now offering private lessons to violin students at all levels in classical and folk styles, including the AMEB exam syllabus. Learning and refining skills and knowledge is most satisfying and rapid when we are fully engaged in the learning process. My approach is to develop an individually tailored program for each student that meets their musical aspirations, stylistic preferences, and learning styles.
