About Sophie
I am a practicing artist who makes art using textiles and embroidery. My work employs words to make an activist statement and to hopefully change the world for the better. I have taught many children to sew through my role at an After School care and love to introduce people to the world of textile art.

About the lesson

I teach through first showing my students a technique and then assisting them to create their own masterpiece. This is achieved by giving students a clear idea of what we are creating, so that the parameters are set but there is also room for creativity. Each project runs for at least two weeks so there is time for work to be completed. During classes, I keep the class size small or deliver one-on-one tutoring in order to allow for each student to be focused on and for them to flourish.
