"I struggled in elementary school to learn how to read, and I remember feeling so lost and confused because I just did not understand why I was not getting it. My teacher began tutoring me after school, spending her own free time helping me overcome my challenges. I have always been so grateful for her commitment to meet me where I was, which is a value I strive to use in my own teaching. I believe that all students have the potential to do great things, and sometimes all it takes to help them is a little individualised attention and dedication."
