About Adam
Programming is part of a six-year tutoring career during which I have taught 260 students across a genuinely wide range of ages, confidence levels, and starting points. My background includes strong formal training combined with a real, personal enthusiasm for making coding feel like an interesting exploration rather than an intimidating wall of unfamiliar rules. My teaching style is enthusiastic and conversational throughout, and I deliberately use humour to reduce the stress many students already associate with programming. I am especially drawn to working with students who feel they have fallen behind their peers in this fast-moving field.

My programming lessons open with a genuine real-world question or piece of curiosity before any formal technical explanation begins, since building real curiosity first genuinely makes the following content feel far more approachable and memorable. I lean heavily on Socratic-style questioning throughout, guiding students towards their own genuine conclusions through smaller guided questions rather than simply handing over ready-made answers. Sessions stay energetic and hands-on, switching frequently between short focused explanation and active coding practice to keep attention sharp. I encourage students to predict what code will do before running it, sharpening genuine intuition.
