About Colby
I consider myself a very approachable, easy person to work with, and I have a genuine passion for helping students carve their individual paths to a successful future. As a current MBA student at Columbia and graduate with high honors from Bucknell University, I understand the dynamics of pursuing education at an elite institution. More specifically, writing has always been my passion; I was an English major at Bucknell and have authored several published screenplays. Today, I am approaching a Summer Analyst role in consulting at BCG, and understand how to truly stand out in a vigorously competitive pool of applicants. My delivery with students is direct, honest, constructive, collaborative, and always sincere.

My tutoring is structured, strategic, and tailored to each student. I begin by assessing strengths and goals, then focus on thesis clarity, argument development, textual analysis, and narrative voice. Sessions combine targeted instruction with live editing and guided practice so students leave with both stronger drafts and transferable writing skills.
I help students not just write better, but think more clearly and communicate with confidence. I work with high school students seeking guidance on standout college application essays and/or AP English support.
