My approach as a tutor is to start with the basics. I allow the child to tell me what they are most comfortable with and what helps them be successful. No matter if it's a game, certain words, hands on, whatever fits them best. Once I get a feel of their learning method, I strive to take the next big step. I'm a very patient tutor and I understand that not everyone gets things on the first try, so I break it down to the simplest form before trying to have a child work through a problem. When ready I encourage them to look for key words and main points. I'm all about what comfortable for the child.
